Roger Federer is just 2115 points behind World no.1 Rafael Nadal. If Roger Federer win this 2009 Wimbledon title, he will get 2000 atp points. It must be wandering in you mind, Federer is 2115 points behind the spaniard, how is he going to be World no.1 with just 2000 points?
The answe is here. Every tennis player has to choose the tournament and event that they are going to participate each year at the beginning of the season. Because of Rafael Nadal's withdrew from the event, 750 points will be taken away from his atp points. Therefore, Roger Federer has a golden opportunity to shine at this Wimbledon and become World no. 1 again.
First time i heard that news, I was totally blown away. It was totally awesome!!! I was very happy until i wanted to cry already.
